Victoria - circa 1835This elegant carriage was named by the French in honor of Queeen Victoria of England. Driving through the park in such a carriage became the vogue for ladies of fashion.Restored in antique white finish, brass lanterns, and a black convertible top which can be put up or down, the Victoria has easy access and graceful lines. The main seat for the bridal couple faces the jumpseat for two additional adults. A perfect wedding carriage pulled by two horses.Accommodates up to 4 passengers.Caleche - circa 1845Referred to as a presidential or royal carriage, this elite vehicle is very luxurious and was found exclusively in the stables of the extreme upper class. President Lincoln owned a crriage almost idemntical to this one. It was regarded as a symbol of status, pulled by 2 or 4 horses.Restored in burgundy with patent leather fenders and a black convertible top which may be put up or down, the Caleche also has a passenger step which automatically folds down upon opening the door. Refferred to as a Gentlemen’s Carriage, it is often used to bring the groom to the wedding site.
